Noisy Home? Compensation of up to 20%

What can you do if a newly purchased apartment turns out to be excessively noisy, beyond what could reasonably be expected? Whether the disturbance comes from neighbouring properties, plumbing systems, footsteps or traffic noise, a home should provide an adequate level of acoustic comfort.

In some cases, inadequate sound insulation may give rise to claims against the seller or other responsible parties. Italian case law has recognised significant compensation in disputes involving serious acoustic deficiencies in residential properties.
